Anyone know of a good program or way to upload training videos without having to post them on sharing sites such as youtube?
I would like to upload training videos to this site in my workout log occasionally without having untrained, mal nourished or sluggo types commenting on my form if ya know what I mean.
Thanks.

I can look into that for you, but not that I'm aware of currently.
Just fyi, I've been uploading my training videos too youtube for over a year, and post them to my log here as well as on the RTS site and I have yet to get a single negative comment on Youtube.........and my form is the worst! Over course no ones searching out videos of me, you might be a famous George what do I know.

No, I'm not famous or anything. I just had a flashback to my myspace days when I uploaded some squat vids on there. I had everything from the plates being fake, to my form sucking, not going parallel, etc. Half the kids (I mean literally kids) were lucky to push triple digit body weight. I may be a bigger person and ignore this, but truth is it really irks me.
Also, I have had some horrible internet experiences. I received multiple prank phone calls given that my phone number was listed on meet entries and also in powerliftingwatch.com for my state chair duties and gym ownership. At one point I was recieving over ten calls a day from one number. The worst part is, these people also had just as easy an access to my address. While I would like to say something clever like I got a 12gauge waiting for them on the other side (which I got a lot more than that), the truth is everyone's vulnerable and the paranoia got to me. For that reason, I would rather keep private when possible.
I have not looked at all yet. I figured I'd throw it out and see if anyone knew. If I discover something tonight when I get more time I'll post it on here.

I know you can disable youtube's comments, but I don't think that existed on myspace when I had one. I guess it is comical asking a public forum for a way to make something private. I was just hoping there was a way to imbed a video on the blog only, without having to submit it to a large video network. This way people on this site can view and provide input and it accomodates my log. This might be a winner, I'll play aorund next session and see what happens... www.ehow.com/how_5098187_embed-video.html

That might work, but now you've given someone, with the "know how" direct access to your PC, as your personal PC is hosting the video? I could be total wrong, but I'd check into that before following those steps. Not to dismay you at all from posting your videos, being that I train alone, I learn the most by watching others lifters lift. Good luck and hope to see your training soon.
And Myspace is for kids and Facebook is for Adults who think there kids.............ha, just kidding if anyone has either of those accounts.

Noskcaj: Yeah I thought about that pittfall too. I am starting to debate whether or not to use youtube anyway or forget about it....lol. I have never posted a training video, however I see the benfits in doing so, particularly the chance someone else may notice something wrong.
I'm going to look more into youtube security and still skim around for an easy way to make something blog specific.
Thanks Guys.

Not that it's a great solution...but you could post them to photobucket.com I think you have better control over who sees your stuff, and because it's not quite so swamped with traffic, you can parcel out links to your peeps, yet not get overrun with "sidewalk traffic"
