I am not much of a supplement guy. I take a muli vitamin and vitamin e and fish oil capsules, but at age 45 with a physical job and 30+ years of lifting I feel alittle creaky is there anything else out there I should try that has ingredients I can pronounce?

I like Nature Made TripleFlex (Glucosamine/Chondroitin/Hyaluronic Acid). I've also found eating at least 30% of my caloric intake from fat helps with both joint pain & recovery. I get 81% of my fats from whole milk, Sesamin (sesame oil), fish oil, flaxseed & almonds.
I also like to wrap my joints when they get really painful (specifically elbows & knees) in a flannel scarf at bedtime & sleep that way all night, it's a little hot but helps a lot.

I take Releve by MHP. It has different ingredients for joints and tissue repair, as well as IsoOxygene for pain relief. This works very well for me. I took this before my distal clavicle resection surgery on my left shoulder, and it worked better on the pain than any OTC NSAID. Here are the ingredients: Baikal Skullcap Root Extract (200mg) - Baikal skullcap root extract improves the immune system, increases energy, products the liver, and strengthens bones. Furthermore it improves phagocytes and promotes blood circulation. Especially effective in lowering blood pressure of patients with hypertension. N-Acetyl Cysteine (500mg) - a stable form of the sulfur-containing amino acid L-cysteine, is a powerful antioxidant. N-acetyl cysteine is also a precursor to glutathione, another potent antioxidant that plays an important role in the liver's detoxification pathways. Glucosamine Sulfate 2KCl (500mg) - This is the Glucosamine made from shellfish as opposed to Glucosamie HCl, which is derived from plants and is the type in Tripleflex that Ursus uses. The studies that I have read on the internet do state that the HCl is a little more effective than the sulfate, but overall it is stilll inconclusive. Alpha Lipoic Acid (100mg) - Alpha lipoic acid is also an antioxidant, a substance that neutralizes potentially harmful chemicals called free radicals. What makes alpha lipoic acid unique is that it functions in water and fat, unlike the more common antioxidants vitamins C and E, and it appears to be able to recycle antioxidants such as vitamin C and glutathione after they have been used up. Glutathione is an important antioxidant that helps the body eliminate potentially harmful substances. Alpha lipoic acid increases the formation of glutathione. IsoOxygene (500mg) - www.pureprescriptions.com/pdfs/IsoOxygene-vs-drugs.pdfI asked 3speed before taking this, and he just recommended talking to your doctor before taking since IsoOxygene is a natural cox-2 inhibitor. Like I said, this works very well for me. I always recommend reading about the ingredients before taking any supplement. I hope this helps.

Other than what I mentioned above, Osteo Bi-Flex has always worked very well for me.

So many fish oil is a start, but a good multi vitamin make sure it has vitamin K. K is very good for the joints, but if you are on a blood thinner stay away from K. Keep the bones strong with calcium and vitamin D and try shark cartilage for the joints. So far it has worked for me.
