Not a bad adiction. I say go for it. Unless you feel your body can't follow your heart and mind. Just do it man.

That I shouldn't do the Super Squats routine once I am done with this meet. I can see my addictive mind working on me now and need an intervention I would like to try for 405 for 20 in the squat just one more time though....... I need help!@!!!@#*%^R&*O^()* I bought that book back in 1998 after I was involved in an auto accident and couldn't train for five months. I was anxious to add back body weight that I'd lost during my period of not training. I did the Super Squats routine, at first with a Hip Belt and later when I could, with a barbell. I regained body weight, but not to the extent the program promised and the reason for that was mainly because I was older and had already built a base. I do believe one could add 30-40 pounds of body weight using the program if one is just starting out. It is a grind though....and will make you see "sparklies" after a set and you will probably be nauseous after the 20 reps. I found I could do the routine at most twice a week. I did enjoy the routine, but realized for me that it wasn't a long term routine. Twenty reps is hard your body.....but the best part is that you don't NEED a lot of weight to get results from this program so for me that was a plus, after constant and heavy powerlifting squats. Since I'm so light, the best I did was to get 250 for 20 and that was more than enough to work me into the ground....at the time. Good luck!! The program works.....oh, and I did use pullovers with a light barbell after the squats.....it definitely helps get your breathing back in order. John

John, I have done Mark Berry's program that Strossen borrowed a bunch of times and when I am done with the 6 weeks always swear that I will NEVER do it again! Then, like some haunting memory it creeps back into my subconscious just to bother, cajole and try to humiliate me to give it just one more try. I have never put on more than 5-10 pounds doing it but have hit some good numbers. The last time that I tried this nonsense was about 20 months ago while training my kid for football. I had him on it and figured that it was only fair to do it to myself. The last workout was 405 for 21 reps and fell trying to put it back into the rack....I weighed about 210 then. I am not sure if I would try to get to 405 again but figured to start at 315 and add evrytime and see where I end up. Dr. Ken hit his 405x23 in his 40's so that always presents a challenge and I love a challenge. ;D
