There seems to be an increase in popularity with this event. Over the year there is close to 20 curl competitions, with Nationals and now World Championships.
I know that there are atleast 3 other federations (all US based and primarily only US feds) that offer this event.
Think any Europeans would join in on the fun? any one know of any strict curl competitions going on in Europe?

I was reading PLUSA and saw one competition that had 190 and 209# lifts. They were HW and SHW, but still...is RAW the only fed with the strict rules? Just wondering. I want to know how to compare myself with the other lifters. Any input appreciated. aaron

I know that NASA is not up against the wall and allows a decent amount of swing in their meets (check youtube for more info). I am not sure about the other curl feds, would like to know that as well.

There are Strict Curl comps in Europe as well. In Germany for example there is a German Strict Curl Championship every year in February / March timeframe. They also have a German Cheating Curl Comp later in November. I also know that in the UK are several Strict Curl comps! I would love to sign in for a US comp but the travel expenses are too high at these days. But this is definitely planned Train Hard BR// --T

Really, that is interesting. Thanks for the reply, even if it is an old thread.
What fed are some of these European competitions? Is there any results on the net I can look at?
I would love to organize a competition with the best curlers around the globe. Any info you can give me about these european feds putting on these meets would help!

Sure, I host the results of the Gemran Strict Curl Champs on my website www.rb-germany.com/StrictCurlComps.htmlThere is no fed when it comes to Strict Curl but I would love to work on it! Pls also have a look to the Online Competition we host! Maybe its interesting for someone and I see it as a 1st start for a "real" World Champs where the best can and should compete! Strong Curls Cheers --Thorsten

the Curl is a very hard and technical lift, I enjoy it. the wall curl is brutal, and the curl in NASA takes a lot of technique.
If I make it to Worlds I will be curling

I don’t know about other federations but it really seems to be taking off in 100% Raw. At least in the US.

I think it has its place. I don’t think it would replace ever replace the big three, but its fun and the way 100% Raw judges it is a true test of strength.
