I figured I would start a new thread letting people know when the Master's rankings are updated. The updated Master rankings for 2008 should be posted in a few days, I submitted them to Paul today. I still do not have the YMCA Nationals & TX State Championships results. The new list includes NC State and Twisted Fitness. If there are any errors, please email me at RWisdomDC@verizon.net

Stop gloating, Rich.
Ron, Do you know who I can contact about corrections to the overall 2008 rankings and also the national bench press and deadlift records sections? Apparently, the results of the Masters' Nationals (Melbourne, FL, March '08) were left out.

Uncleal,
I would contact Paul. When I update the Master's rankings I submit them to Paul. He sends them to someone else to update the site. I do not know who updates the overall rankings.

Are there different age divisions for Masters?

Welcome to the boards, Franko! If you go to the main 100% RAW page www.rawpowerlifting.comgo to the Events tab and click on Schedules, and then open up any entry form in the right hand column. There you will see how the ages are broken up in the Masters division, as well as what the different weight classes are.

fidler, thanks for the welcome. I was looking at the rankings and I might have missed it but I didnt see any separation for age groups. I was interested in the 50 to 54 165lb male lifts. Maybe my bifocals are messed up.

The regular rankings have never done that either. I like to see the weight classes like this to compare but I can see how in the Masters rankings age is a bigger factor.

The masters rankings are not subdivided by age. It includes anyone over 40. To break this down by age and weight class would be much more time consuming. Keep in mind this is all volunteer. If your interested in finding out where you rank in your age, you can look at the reults from the past meets that are posted and kind of figure out where you rank. This is what I do. Or look at the masters rankings for your weight, and look who above you and where they lifted. The meet directors post all age group. I hope this is helpful. If not feel free to call me 802-249-7670. Ron, would it be possible to add a column to cite the ages of the lifters? That would be interesting and pertinent information for viewers, since there is obviously a big difference between 40 and 80. It would be possible for viewers to correlate results and ages. That seems easy enough to me, but you're the one doing all the work. Or maybe just consider that for next year’s format?

Whoa fellas !
I think maybe we are getting ahead of ourselves here !
Has there been some "misunderstanding? -yes, I think so
COULD things have been done differently, more efficiently etc.... YES, probably so
BUT I think this is getting blown out of proportion, there is ALWAYS a way to work something out if both sides want to .
Bll, I can see your gripe, you put in ALOT of time, training, dedication etc... and then you don't get to go to an event (s) that you legitimately qualified for - I would be PO'D too.
Is there a way to contact the sponsors of the event (s) you qualified for but cannot compete in because of no fault of your own - could Paul maybe make a call and talk to the "right" people ? there are ALWAYS extenuating circumstances to consider . The power lifting community as a whole seems to stick together pretty well, might be worth a shot to try .
I think this is a GREAT forum, and so do you deep down, I think frustration is speaking for BOTH of you guys here .
I don't mean any DISRESPECT here to either one of you, but this is too good a place, with too good of people to let this type of thing get a foot hold . And both of you are TOO GOOD OF MEN to act this way.
Not trying to stick my nose where it don't belong here .
Maybe make a phone call, talk it out .
Pray about it, ask for guidance .

I actually sent that post in before Joebear. That post was for you. The Master Rankings update have already been sent to Paul. You will go through life trying to blame every one else but yourself. I sent updates in early August and now October. Do you really expect all of us to believe that you could not go to the Worlds because some volunteer did not post an updated ranking in September...gives us a break.
Joebear I am sorry if you thought that post was for you, it wasn't. If you look at the times of the post you will see they are only one minute apart. I must have hit enter after you. I agree with you 100%. In my first post I suggested that bigarm should call Paul. I too thought this could be resolved.

The Master's ranking have been submitted. It will probably be updated on the site within a few day. I submit them to Paul who turns sends them to someones else to be posted. This process can take a few days. If there are any errors, please let me know.
I only do the Master's not State, National, World or overall. If for some reason you need to have the Master's rankings posted by a certain date, let me know a week or two in advance and I will update them. Otherwise expect the next update in late November. And please. no diatribes.

Ultimately Paul Bossi is responsible for what goes on here (just like your employer is responsible for your actions) and if something isn’t getting done then he needs to step in and correct the situation. I’m guessing Paul’s a busy man and may not see everything going on. A simple e-mail probably could have rectified this situation and saved a few personal attacks. Myself I was just happy to see someone do a list that didn’t even exist the year before but then again I’m not an elite lifter relying on sponsorship either. It’s too bad results don’t speak for themselves.
I know Plwatch has rankings but I don’t know the criteria for being ranked.
Thanks Ron for getting the list updated and sorry to see you go Bigarm.

Ok, enough is enough. Lets all grow up here and quit with the finger pointing.
I take care of running meets(Nebraska State Chair), updating my state, Iowa & Missouri state records, moderating this board AND all of the overall rankings. The rankings are done as soon as the meet results are posted. I then submit them. It is not up to me to post them, that is another individual. I will add, there is alot more to it than just typing in some numbers. It is very time consuming. I did take on this responsibility voluntarily, and things are done in a very timely manner on my end, so do not come on here and start making accusations before you know the whole story. You don't know me, so get your facts straight first.
You and your sponsors problems are not mine, so don't make them.
If you have any other complaints, PM, call or email me, I am very easy to reach. I am not going to get into some childish internet banter with you on here.
