It Wont Be For A While But Being The Worlds Strongest Man Is My Passion In Life. I Love PowerLifting,Always Will, Being The Worlds Strongest Man Would Be Amazing.....I Plan To Start Doing It When I Turn 24 Or 25, I Want To Build An Amazing Base, And Great Conditioning First, Not Many Strong Men From The United States Have Done Much. I Think If You Look At The Last Time Kaz Won, And Last Year Phil Winning It,There Was A 20 Year Win-Less Drout For The U.S.A. Now I Know The Odds Are Against Me,And Few Will Think I Can Do It But I Want To Be The Stong Man's Most Winningest Titel Holder. I Want To Compete And See The World.... I Believe Its My Calling In Life,And If It Isnt, I Still Plan On Chaseing My Dreams Like A Hurricaine Chaseing Wind

Codiesel,
I wish you all the luck pursuing your dream. I too have always felt attracted to Strongman events but haven't been blessed with the full package for powerfifting. (I'm a bench only guy now.) Pursue your dreams.....If God has given you the strength to think about competing with the strongest men in the world...you should take advantage of it.

EVERY ONE gets told it is a pipe dream. All Champions start out as no bodies, and people around them don't think they will make it. Even if they get told they should give it a try, the person saying it is ussually just trying to be nice.
But guess what, Champions come from some where. There is no good reason you can't make it far. You have two arms, two legs and your heart pumps the same stuff every one else's does.
Give it a shot. Its better to try and see how far you go (I am sure you will make it far enough to be proud) than to never have and regret it when you are older.
Like they say "Don't feel sorry for the guy with big dreams, feel sorry for the guy without a dream"

This is great. I to have a passion for strongman. I competed in local NC strongman in 2002. Haven't done any sice then, working on strengthening my foundation first. See my training log. Just started one on this site. I try to make my own strongman equipment. Have farmers walk, tire and log from telephone pole. Next I want to make some stones and yoke. Do you have a training log?
I wish you the best of luck and stay injury free, this is the key.

codiesel, Go for it if that is what you want. I too started in powerlifting years ago and always wanted to compete in strongman. Luckily, we had a guy who started promoting shows up here in 2002 and after I did the first one I was hooked. I did those in the summer and pl'ed in the winter. In 2004 I went exclusively strongman. I had a great run with alot of wins and the climax of winning Master Ntls. The best thing is just meeting all the neat people and friendships that have been made. My advice is to get around the implements. Nothing will prepare you for the contests like using the implements. Get around some experienced people also, this is huge. Also, don't overtrain as it is much easier to do in strongman than poewerlifting. Strongman is a complete body workout everytime you touch the stuff. Be smart and be strong.
