How is this movement performed and judged? Thanks.

The most recent rules are that you perform a curl with your back up against the wall. The legs must be straight and your butt and upper back must stay against the wall. You pick up the bar (an EZ curl bar) and then get the command to curl. You curl it up to your chin area, you may move your upper arms forward but butt and back must maintain contact with the wall. Holding it at the top, you get the command "Down" so you bring the bar down. Holding it at the bottom, you get the command "Rack" and you set it on the ground.
In the past it was just standing straight up but that is pretty hard to judge so I believe that is why they switched it to up against the wall, which is significantly harder.

I totally agree with the rule change. Makes it much less subjective. My only complaint is that this is another rule changed that happened when?

Yea I am not sure when this rule changed, but we used this rule at Nationals and let me tell you this is a true Strict Curl..Much harder but still lots of fun!

Sounds like a lot of fun!
I like the rule change. Makes things much harder, but again, it only concerns the arms. That is the way it is suppose to be. It is also much more fair.

I agree its the only way to do a curl. One thing I did not like is when it was not agenst the wall. the nice thing about it being up on the wall is it gives a clear indication of wheather or not the person has strong bis or a strong back
