Hey guys, I'm a personal trainer and I've got two female clients that are interested in getting into this circuit. (It always helps your training if you have a goal.) Here's my question(s): Are there alot of female lifters that compete regularly in RAW? I checked the profiles and only saw 3 if I'm not mistaken. I checked into AAU and USAPL and once again only a handful of female lifters. Its great to compete, but not so much fun if you are the only one in that weight class. And lastly, is there anyway to see who has registered to enter a meet a head of time? I noticed that RAW and USAPL both have meets on April 8th.
Thanks for any information you can share.

Hopefully this will help a little:
I know from my first experience at the Raw world meet there was a fair share of female lifters. The smaller meets that lead up to the world's seem to have maybe one to two females compete. Don't believe everything in the profile section b/c im sure not all of the competing females have posted their info. I'm not sure about AAU and USAPL. I know from lifting with the "Raw Dogs," Kerry never seems to have anyone in her weight class, but she is always striving to beat her previous records, which has helped her to become one of the strongest female lifters in RAW.
In regards to your last questions, that would be cool to see who is due to show up to a meet. I've never seen that before, but definitely an interesting concept.

thanks for the info. And yes, I read Kerry's profile, very impressive. I would love to have my clients see her lift, even though they are not in her weight class, it is definitely a motivaror. If the "Raw Dogs" plan to be at the Battle of the Borders on April 8th, please let me know. Thanks again

Hey, Brmb. Just like S2Bmonster said, it depends. Usually the most of the female lifters will show when there's a lot of high school lifters at a meet, but there are some top quality female lifters that show as well. At the nationals in Sanford last summer, there were probably 6-8 in the bench only, and another 5-6 in the full power (can't remember specifically). You can go to the home page and pull up previous meet results, there's usually something on there that separates the females from the males, to help you get a count.
God Bless. Doug P.

I would love to see the female competitors. I think women in powerlifting is kinda cool. My wife would do pretty good in a bench meet. I plan to help her train for a bench meet one day. She has this "thing" about lifting heavy, she hates it when guys see her lifting heavy it makes her feel "manish" I told her they were either impressed or jealous. lol Of course she can out bench allot of guys I know. lol Is there a link for female power lifting? Triaining? She is training now for a natural bodybuilding show in July so we have to wait until all that is over before she starts powerlifting.
