My name is Al im 32 yo from NY 6'2" 215lbs. Just started powerlifting about 10 months ago. I used to do the basic bench and bi's when I was younger. Hadn't worked out for about 4 years when I started up again last summer. Gym stats are currently 450 squat(very low), 315 bench(bounce), 475 deadlift. Current focus is 1350 total (475squat, 300 (comp bench), 550 deadlift). But my year or 2 focus will be 1476 total to make masters.
I got into powerlifting reading about wsbb and trained like that for awhile. I was really into powerlifting then I started to realize how much test. everyone was taking and how the super suits aid so much. I got turned off to powerlifting as a sport but loved to train that way.
Well I feel rejuvenated after finding RAW POWERLIFTING. Its good to see many others out there not interested in drugs and fake totals. Thanks for making a great federation. I am now trying to get a powerlifting club started with a few of my friends who don’t really powerlift but lift for other reasons. I will be joining as a member soon and competing once I feel ready to step on the stage.
Raw and drug free is the way to go.

Hey, Al... those are some decent numbers for a guy of your height/weight and experience. If you can do a 315 touch-and-go bench, you should be able to handle 300 in a competition. Good luck with your other goals as well. There is a competition planned for NY State in July, hopefully you can make it...

Hey, Al. First off, that is one heckuva start you have there, brother! SOLID lifts all 3! I've told everybody (if I left anyone out, here it is :') that you'll enjoy 100% RAW. The meets, although highly competitive, are very friendly. Everyone I've met has been just great folks. Even folks in your weight class will chat with you about training and nutrition, and you'll leave a meet with a warm fuzzy feeling. About the upcoming meets, go to www.rawpowerlifting.com then click on "events" and "schedule" (or something like that). Glad to have you here! All the best in your training and competitions. God Bless. Doug P.
