With all the shirted benching it is hard to know what is the best raw groove to hit.
I think I have found it best to bench just below the nipple line and come back slightly towards my eyes. I have my elbows at the 45 degrees though.
What way do you guys bench?

I try to hit that line, or maybe a tad lower, then press straight up. (With my arch, it becaomes a decline press.) I also try to keep my elbows tucked on descent, flaring on ascent at about the mid-range.

It really depends on your body type. The more belly I get the more I want to move that grove downward!

Thanks guys for your replys.
I know two things about myself. 1) I don't seem to be able to hit the belly because I loose a bit of control on decent at the bottom...2) I like benching in the "c" curve. I think I will try benching just below the pec and working it that way.
I wish I could use my belly a bit more since I have a big one. I also feel the "c" or "j" is much more explosive.
Does 100% Raw Fed allow belly benching? I don't think the USAPL does. .. Just Curious.
I really want to bench in this Fed when they come to PA May 27.
Thanks all, andy

There is no belly benching allowed in the 100% RAW Federation. You will be called on it and get 3 red lights. I have not seen anyone hit their belly in a bench unless they have a bench shirt on. As for RAW lifters most bench across their nipples or just below.
