Rosario... Can't swim in one.. but could surf, maybe?
I'm getting concerned because it's an 11 hour drive from Michigan according to my GPS.
Any idea if the airports will be closed? I'm assuming most definitely all flights are canceled for the entire east coast. I won't be able to wait, and wait, and at the last minute drive out there. My body will be toast and I wouldn't do well by anyone's standard.
I found out that the Triathlon will be canceled... can't imagine that heartbreak for all those people who've trained for 2 years only to have it canceled... think of all the money in food, supps, etc., let alone all the time and planning...
Things aren't looking good as the evacuations for the Bronx have been ordered, I think, already... watching the news now.
Today was a track day... run/shot/sprint.
BIG/HUGE SIGH watching the news.

Well, after much time spent on hold with Expedia and Delta... I was able to get a flight to NY on Monday... I'll get there in the evening.... hopefully my luggage will make it... if not I'll need to find a nutritional store in NY that I can access, provided that it would be open.
One more 'peace of mind' run tomorrow ... then i'm off!

Well... I got off to a horrible start on my 5k... the hills were extremely tough and I didn't have my legs.. the fatigued very early in the 5k. From there I didn't do as I planned because of the fatigue.
Going into the rope climb I felt more confident and almost PR'ed... with 6.2 seconds on the rope. I passed on the 2nd attempt to save energy and strength for the pull ups.
For my bench I should've stuck with my pre comp strategy.. but instead I decided to go lighter... and my second lift I chose only 305lbs... that was easier than my first lift... i was so fatigued my leg drive wasn't there in warm ups... but 'on the stage' - well, when it counted I could've repped 305 x 4... that's how light it felt... I needed points on the board so I went light... maybe a mistake.
Pull ups I did 34... a new PR... and that put me in 4th...
For the last event, the obstacle course... I needed to beat the guy in 3rd by 7 seconds to get a bronze.... I had come back something fierce during the day after the misery of the 5k. (The guys from Spain beat me by almost 3 minutes... again horrible 5k. Last time in Vancouver they only beat me by about one minute thirty.)
I had to give it my all to put pressure on him because I had to go before him... in the first 60 feet of the obstacle course we drag a dummy and the dummy's feet can't come off the ground.. the volunteer ref said that I lifted the feet off the ground, in a nut shell... which adds 5 secs to my time... so now it's impossible to get my bronze... in looking at the video of it, the feet don't come off the ground... I haven't a clue what the ref did and/or saw.. but it made it impossible for me to get a podium. No idea where I finished because it was a podium finish or I didn't care. I could've maintained 4th... but who cares about that.
Overall not happy... but I went with my gut and played catch up all day.
From here.. I'll do a ton of 2 board presses and hopefully one day get a 405 bench by the time I'm 40 years.
Thanks for those who followed my training log....
Take care

The pic is of the 2 top guys from Spain who I've been chasing for about 10yrs... the guy to the left is who beat me in Vancouver... the other guy is their 2nd top guy... This should've been the podium picture, with me in the middle/gold! The youtube videos/links are of my easy and wimpy bench, and my PR of 34 pullups. I know that you are disappointed but I really believe that you did a fantastic job. just to compete at the level that you do is an accomplishment. Remeber you are still young and can improve next time.
