the whole eating before gym, just gives an upset stomach for some people. if you require the nutrition before the gym. solid food takes an average hour to digest. liquid food takes an average 30 mins to digest. this is why you get many of those "gasers" at the gym. since they drink protein right before lift.
your close grip looks like a normal grip. close grip is anytime your grip in farther then normal grip. depending on latissimus (back) size. your normal grip changes. if you put your arms to your sides and squeeze your lats, depending on your lat size it should push your elbow out. i keep my wrist above my elbow at all times. so my normal grip is my elbow width.

My normal grip is pinkies on rings. I don't see any reason for people to go closer than the edge of the knurling. For people who already bench with a close grip (which it sounds like you do), I think reverse grip presses are a good change of pace.

I took some time off after last competition and just got caught up on the blogs. I really do get a lot from reading your clips. Great job and keep them coming.

It's been a fun experience writing them. I'm glad other people get something out of them as well! Past two days of training, some more info/clarifications about the Bulgarian method, and some discussion of several aspects of my general training philosophy: gregnuckols.wordpress.com/2012/11/06/past-couple-training-days-with-some-tips/

Great workouts as usual. You have great insight for some one so young. I admire your open mindedness. I believe that presidents tend to get too much credit when things go good and too much blame when things go bad. Unfortunately a two party system really changes how the country is run.

Long overdue catch-up post: gregnuckols.wordpress.com/2012/12/12/im-not-dead/nachtegaal45 - I still get 100+ pounds out of a belt. As much as I'd like to just ditch it, it makes a huge difference for me. @buckeye - Thanks! That means a lot! I think the problem is that with cable news networks, people can constantly live inside their own echo chamber and never be exposed to the views of the other side. Fox and MSNBC are both worthless networks, but both kill CNN and the BBC in the ratings (who are at least somewhat centrist, as I see it). It's hard to have a functioning democracy when half the populace thinks the other half are overly emotional, illogical, and constitution-hating, while the other half sees the first half as close-minded, ignorant, and bigoted. I'd like to see a viable third party so people would be forced to form alliances instead of simply beating the other side down enough to gain a simple majority.
