DE lowerbody... wanted to squat and try out some sumo pulls squats135x10x1 315x10x1 500x6x1 500x6x1 this is some trash right here..i guess it's what i get for not SQUATTING for a few weeks. It's time to pay the price... 425x12x1 425x17x1 better... 325x25x1 325x25x1 wasn't drinking enough water today and got really really light headed and got the cotton mouth for a long time no matter how much i drank so there's a few lessons to be learned here. sumo speed pulls135x10x1 315x5x1 500x3x1 500x3x1 600xmiss 525x1x1 no problem.... not impressed with my lifting on this one. It felt VERY awkward and once again pointed out a few week things in my lifting. I think sumo's will help my conventional deads along with my squats because of the stance. We'll see how it goes. I'll get 600 in a few weeks time once my body gets used to teh movement.

I just pulled my shirt of and the back of it is covered in blood...I guess with all the wiggling under the bar to get it set and having to hitch it back up to keep it from slipping down adn having to dump it took it's toll. Now my donkey wants a shirt that says "squat til you bleed" HAHAHA I built up somethign kinda like a callus on the back of my shoulders from all my squatting before but I guess fromnot squatting for awhile it kinda got scrubbed off with my back luffa.

How do you like the bands? Is there a learning curve involved?

How do you like the bands? Is there a learning curve involved? i like them but see how you can easily over do it and end up also becomign dangerous since it forces teh weight down on you..as if anything over 300 doesn't do that enough. I suggest getting a set of light or mini bands..the blue bands are ridiculous and very over powering...i like them but they're going to take some getting used to. DEFINATELY set your cage up right if you're going to use them..because they tire you QUICKLY!

how do you set up your blue bands for bench? i tried them once and they well night crushed me. they were at least 600 pounds at the top and 450 at the bottom, just the bands. if you could make a video of them it would be very appreciated, because by my calculations and with the way i set my bands up, 295 with blue bands would mean your were closing in on an 800 pound raw benchpress

It Duckies sure FEELS like 600lbs but the eccentridc and concentric phases are exaggerated with them. I don't know what bands you were using but that's wrong. I don't think there's any pair of bands out there rated at anything about 200 on the site where i got them. Now you can add additional resistance by choking them up around the becnh meaning wrapping thm around two or even 3 times at the bottom. Do you know how you wrap them at the top for a revers band squat? same thing at the bottom ofthe bench...wrap it TWICE instead of once to get the desired tension at bench press range and and loop them over the inside of the collars. I put a plate on each side first so as tokeep it from pulling off the bar but other than that it's easy breezy slutty sleezy!

oooooh, i get it now. when i do it, there's little studs on either side of the bench i use that you attach the bands to, and at my gym we double the bands over so light bands are maybe 100 at the top, greens are maybe 200 or 250, and blue bands are just insane. because you see, i max at around 375 and the most i can get is 165 with doubled green bands, so seeing you were getting 295 with blues made my eyes bug out thinking of the way i bench with bands.

ME lowerbody...
I would consider this max effortdeadlifts with wessel's rules (1 min time limit)500x10x1 in a minute...could've gotten 12 or better if i kept going. I wanted to hit my goal of 500 for 10 and smoked it!! 405x14x1 in a minute..kept rep'n to 20 315x19x1 in a minute..kept rep'n to 30 had to walk around for about 5 minutes because my donkey would cramp when i would sit. I'm surprised i didn't puke..because i was Duckies close. some ham poopseated dumbbell hammers60x8x1 70x10x1 95x4x1

DE lowerbody
box squats with blue bands...
135x10x1 225x10x1 added blue bands... 225x10x1 315x10x1 315x10x1 225x20x1... took the bands for a ride on the cooldown.
leg press
12platesx20x1 20platesx20x1 22platesx20x1
barbell curls
warmup 135x12x1 160x8x1..that was a nice surprise!!
seated hammer curls
60lbsx6x1 80lbsx6x1 100lbsx3x1 FINALLY!!! MOVING SOME MAN WEIGHT!!! and it was cool as Hades to watch!
i did exercises for legs today that didn't impact my lower back much since it's still talking after all the deads I did the other day. I like the bands on the box and haven't leg pressed in awhile I was also shown how to properly curl with my elbows back and my shoulders forward curling the bar up to my nipples instead of curling it up to my nose... not only was it more comfortable but it fried the Hades out of my bi's. I dont have to go on about the 100lb dumbbell hammers...that speaks for itself! ;D
I think it was a pretty good day!

I signed up for metroflex today but got there too late to workout..but in the process i did sign up for a raw powerlifting meet they're having this friday night. It's a push pull. I'm only doing the pull portion since my shoulder is bothering me just to get my feet wehn in a meet. It's a raw me... belt and straps only but i'm not going to use straps. So today i tried to set up some sort of attempt and openers for it...and all this for reps work is killing my maxes but i want different thigns lately. I haven't done max effort pulls off the floor in a long time it seems and it showed today... pulls 135x10x1 315x5x1 500x1 585x1 635xmiss..came up fast but got stuck.. 615x1 550x5x1...very happy with this... gym was closing so i just threw in some barbell curls... warmup 135x6x1 160x6x1 185x4x1.. 2 good reps and 2 cheat reps... BW:247 so i'm hoping to compete in the 242's friday. don't know what to do... i'm either over trainign because of how my deads have gone today or i'm enjoying the "for reps" more... currently i want 550 for 10 is my goal and 605 for 5 ...maybe this will be the training i'll do for awhile to get my pull up to 700. for the meet i'm going to do 500 as an easy opener, 550, then finish with 600 again...just to get my feet wet and get an idea of how it operates. I was nervous just signing up so I didn't want to try to put on a crazy show and then fudge myself up or get embarassed. My current split is going to be now.. monday-pulls for reps/biceps wednesday-upper body friday-squats for reps sunday-strongman events

Do you know what the powerlifting federation is? I have never seen a meet (Raw or Equiped) where they allow straps. I assume you mean lifting straps for gripping the bar.

Judging from your comments and what I've read it looks like a touch of overtraining. If your going to pull this Friday I would highly suggest you lay off all back exercises for the rest of the week. You don't seem to be at full power and you don't want to walk into this thing and crush your confidence - all though your numbers seem more than attainable based on your log. Good luck.

I concur on the overtraining. That being said, I can't wait to see what you do in the push pull! With your training numbers up for the world to read, your maxes ought to be, um, quite interesting. :')
This week, rest up! By golly you have a meet Friday!
God BLess!

I was wanting to open with 550,600,then finish with 650 but my low back stalled out 3/4 of the way up with 635. 635 felt great coming up but i had to put it down. I don't want to get out there and act a fool.
