Hello and thank you for allowing me here. I have powerlifted in the past but never competed.
I had gained up to 600lbs at one point in my life. I am finally down to 330lbs and still doing well. I can contribute this to 2 things: (1)finally eating better and recognizing the fact that "eat to live" and not "live to eat" isn't just a saying but a true way of life. (2) Powerlifting...It has been that simple for me. My numbers are not where I would like them to be, but I am getting there. I look forward to learning as much as possible and sharing my journey with you guys.
Bench: 295 Squat: 405 Deadlift: 395
Thank you

welcome!
First of all, losing half your bodyweight is a pretty serious accomplishment, no matter how you did it. Second, taking that body composition change and plugging it into serious resistance training like powerlifting is a great way to keep the weight off, so hats off to you for doing that AND having a good follow-up plan in lifting.
You should start a training log in that section of the forum. It allows other experienced lifters to help you as you move along through your journey and it also lets others learn from your experiences.
Good luck and keep up the good work!

Welcome to our little family and congratulations on your progress so far. Remember that it's a marathon - not a sprint and enjoy the journey.

Ryan, 3speed...Thank you for the warm welcome. It has been a long journey. I have only began to look through all the aspects of the forum. But yes starting Monday I plan to start a entry in the journal section. I hope to be able to help and contribute as well.
