I have an upcoming comp and this will be the first time i buy equipment for it the first thing on the list is a belt. the events are DL Max x 3 attempts starting weight 400lb Axle C&P 200lb x 60s (continental is legal) farms 460lb x 50 ft stone load 240lb over 48" 60s tire flip 600lb x 5 flips/ power stairs 250lb medley
so my question is 8mm belt or 10mm belt? i know an 8mm belt is more favored for oly lifters where as 10mm and above is focused at powerlifting.
BTW im 170lb competing in the 175lb class

First off Farmers, 460lb Holy Crop! I’m hoping that’s 230 per hand!
I like a thicker belt myself. I actually have 13mm belt from Inzer. I think it provide more stability in the moving events. Now I have never used it but a lot of the guys I train with who are primarily strongmen layer their belts they will wear a Softer neoprene back support type belt under their weightlifting belt. That say it provides more support without being as restrictive.
