Hi Guy's, I am new to the board, looks good. I am on my 5th month after having surgery, where they repaired two rotator cuffs (fully torn) as well as cleaning up my labrum and bicep tendon on my left arm/shoulder. Anyways I have been training since HS ( I am 46 now) and have always trained fairly heavy. I used to compete in full meet and bench only back in the 90's, but gave it up with having to compete against bench shirts and squat suits etc. I always preferred to train and compete raw. I start back in the gym slowly this month and am wondering if anyone has gone through this already? and can give some pointers. I actually had the final tear while benching (I was on my third rep with 495) and it just tore off. I would definitely like to get back into training and maybe do a bench meet next spring time. Is this feasible? or are my heavy days behind me for good? I am currently at 5'10' and about 270 lbs, would like to drop to at least 242 by the end of the summer. I was thinking that moving my grip in a little might help? I am a natural lifter so I won't be aided by hormones for recovery. Any help or insight is much appreciated.

Check out the training log of toolpod. He had surgery not too long ago and is chasing a 500lb bench at about 215bw.
