Feels good to breathe! Now time for some sloppy joe's in the crockpot and amish uncut loaf of honey wheat bread from Millersburg. My favorite bread. And for dessert - either peach pie or very very soft maple iced sour cream cookies from there. After all, it's Sunday and the lesson we heard today was - take time for God and cease from the normal everyday grind and spend some time w/ Him. I can tell ya, I can't think of a better time to spend w/ Him than w/ that meal and my family!

Good day today. Gonna start doing some ab work while sitting in front of the tv so not to waste time doing it in the weight room. Foam rolling and stretching is done near every day. Two more weeks till the meet. One more max effort day this Friday using the slingshot and then continue w/ some singles up to 90% or so just to feel the weight.

Wasn't very motivated tonight. Felt weak. Ab work yesterday greatly hindered my ability to push on the bench. Probably from yesterday's conditioning as well. Will probably cut out the conditioning until after the meet or just Sunday only so as not to ruin the bench day. I will probably go back to 531 once the meet is over and continue w/ the Prowler and just focus on having decent strength and being in shape. After all, that's why I started all this to begin with. The competitions have kinda sidetracked me from my goals and my focus has been distorted. I'm not really competitive enough to place in the open class so this might be my last meet for a long time. The cost is too high both financially and to my health by doing only powerlifting and no conditioning.

Nothing fancy tonight. Been sick w/ a chest cold so not pushing it. No Prowler this week more than likely. I've decided not to do the meet. I'll be going to call my training partner's weights and keep him from warming up too much since he can be a rep machine. Just not feeling strong at this point which keeps me from even being interested in doing it. At this point, my focus has been on getting my weight back down under 220 and just being healthier and feeling better. Maybe by then I'll be able to switch modes.

Been 30 carbs or less all week. Tonight was refuel after workout. Five Guys burger and fries w/ a few no bake cookies and some type of strawberry thing my wife made w/ a glass of milk. What a nice reprieve.

Training partner competed in the Salem meet today
Bench went 385-407-425 - national record Deadlift went 611 and missed 644 both times butt shot up and was out of position Strict curl ended up 159 - national record

Just read some of your older post.I was at the Vegas competition and actually won overall Master's Bench only.Believe it or not I graduated from Sandusky High School class of 71. For a short period of time I worked out at John Wolfe's garage gym with Wad and the Wilson brothers. I was out classed by those guys but it was a learning experience. That was probably around 1981-1982

I knew Marty Brash probably better than any of the guys from that gym. My best friend dated his sister for a while. I know John Needham but I'm not sure if he would remember me. I really did not know Matthews or Ross. I also lived in Columbus,Ohio for 15 years so I know who Louie Simmons is but he would not know me. Some of the names you mentioned really brought back memories. Thanks! Just shows how small the world really is.

My name is Craig Perry and am a 71 grad from SHS.I had a younger brother Milt that graduated fro St. Marys and played football and baseball. My youngest brother Mark graduated from SHS around 89.
