I have been following MLB, and Bud Selig's decision to start blood testing for HGH in the minors due to the fact that there is not a good urinalysis test developed for this yet. Apparently some of the major sports leagues (MLB, NBA, NFL) have been giving money to the same company to try to develop one, but it hasn't worked out yet. I also read that Professional Rugby in Australia is now going to have blood testing for HGH.
My question is, does anyone think we will see blood testing in the Powerlifting community any time soon for this, or will most Feds just wait until there is a good urinalysis test for it? It seems that most athletes argue blood testing is an invasion. Just curious as to what everyone thinks of this idea since our sport focuses on pure strength more than the other sports I mentioned.

I highly doubt that we will see this for the simple reason that blood testing is more expensive than urine testing. Who's gonna pay for that?
Also, with the exception of possibly catching HGH users, it offers no real benefit over urinalysis.
Even at that, I remain skeptical. The actual scientific basis for the HGH test is a little shaky.

and even more so with the hair testing - very accurate but very expensive. - There just isn't enough money in the sport to make it worth it.
