Thx for the 2 cents, Doug. Always welcomed and appreciated. And thx everyone else for the kind words. I'm not a bit alarmed at 173 with about 7-8 weeks to go. My personal cutoff is about 175 when I sit up and take notice. This is very close to where I was a couple months out for the last meet (I keep track religiously). The eating is very clean, mostly thanks to a wife that is an amazing cook. Major weakness for pizza though. I see it and drool like Doug walking past a Mountain Dew display in the store ;D. 1300 is a-callin...

Love it when you can toss on extra weight. I concur with the above - you are a machine.

I'm with you on that coordination/timing thing. Good idea on the speed pulls. Nice pulling.

Echo Chancey. A speed dead is still a dead, keeps the muscle memory going even in the absence of gut busting weight.
Sweet week of workouts Big! The rack pulls are OUTSTANDING!!!!!
GOd Bless!

Great work Biglifter. I'm still trying to figure out what the co-ordination/timing is supposed to feel like. Once I get it right a few times, maybe I'll get some muscle memory. Any advice?

Hi ya Rock. My advice is deadlift a couple of thousand times . It took me awhile and still has a long way to go. Beyond just ripping a weight off the ground, I find the deadlift to be a very complex movement as everything needs to fire correctly up the posterior chain. At the risk of being very vague, you'll know the timing is right when you pull a heavy weight and is has an almost 'automatic' feeling. Strong from the bottom, hips extend just at the right moment, smooth, strong and tight all the way through. It's really the culmination of starting out by thinking through all the mechanics before each rep (hips low, chest out, deep breath and hold, drive with legs, flex everything, etc....) and having it become second nature. As I mentioned though, I have a long way to go, so I am not the authority (yet ;D). If I am doing something like 5 singles, maybe on 1 or 2 right after the rep, I will just know yes!! that was how it's done (now how the heck do I do that everytime? ). I guess it's one of those things that when it happens, you just know it. Maybe someday I'll YouTube a clip if I get it down to a science!

AWESOME!!!!!!! Man, major MAJOR congrats on the squat! That bad boy is coming along GREAT! And the deadlifting is INCREDIBLE! I'll go on record saying I think the 1265 is in the books, just a matter of that last cycle of meet prep.
I see next week is your deload week. VERY timely! With all that amazing lifting, you are due.
Excellent lifting, Big!
God Bless!

I'd have to agree with you. Your squatting has been on fire! Good week.

WOO HOO!!!!! GO GET 'EM Big!
Absolutely agree with Chancey on this one. 420x2 should put you close to 450, multiple sets or 420x3 should put you close to 460-470. 420x2x3 (we'll see in the post) really in all reasoning ought to put 455 in the bag. August is dead certain if you stay healthy and don't overtrain.
Awesome, simply awesome. Dynamite. Looking forward to this afternoon's post.
God Bless!

You are amazing, Biglifter. You one strong dude. Which competition are you going to do at the end of July? Is it the 100% RAW Nationals? I hope?? If so, I look forward to meeting you there.

Hi Rock,
The first week in August is the ADAU single lift nats and that is the one I'm currently building toward. Geography makes the 100% RAW meets tough for me to attend but I will meet up everyone eventually. Odds are best I would do a VT or NC meet in the future.

And a well deserved break it is. Very nice work. I may not live long enough to catch up with your deadlift, and that's OK!! You are an incredible lifter.

Echo, echo, echo. INCREDIBLE work, you DESERVE a break, and great plan on dis-attaching the dates. You're heavy enough now to just listen to your body. The progress is evident, and it's a matter of getting strong AND staying healthy. SMART move Big!
God Bless!

Man BL, aint that the truth. I tried to put myself on dates and the body doesn't always agree. So, I fall behind schedule and then try to shuffle the dates to get back on...blah! I'm with you on the dates.
Nice props but what you do is amazing!

Man, you are way ahead of the game. Most lifters never put their egos aside long enough to figure that out.
Success is not a destination. It is a journey. 1300 will be just another number that falls to you along the way..........and soon. Outstanding work and progress.

Since the week of April 29, you've been adding 5# to your bench every week. So you had to lay off the accessories today. You got the benching, decline, and dips in. And you're not obligated to curl in a full power meet. Don't sweat it. You've already confessed "lesson learned". What you see as a punk'd out workout, I see as a 165'er that can outlift dang near every 165'er I've ever been at a meet with. For reps.......
I stand by this: YOU ROCK DUDE!
Hope the soreness goes away soon.
God Bless!
