Nah - Just trying to help my bench. The log press is great for the triceps, delts and traps. Besides, it's a new challenge for me.

I have been throwing around the idea (no pun intended) of getting into highland games. Not at the expense of PLing -maybe as an offseason venture- but here's the problem: I don't really have anywhere to train, and because of the specificity of the games, like all the throwing events and carrying events, you seem to need a proper facility to train at OR have a whole bunch of your own space AND apparatus, none of which are available to me (I train at a local Y).
So, not sure what I'll do, but....

The little gym I train at has tires outside for flipping, atlas stones, farmer's handles, sleds, sandbags, a yoke, husaffel stones and a few other toys. I play with them for my conditioning work. They are also great for creating 'functional' strength.

There's a place like that here in Columbia (where I work) called Brickhouse Gym but I'm 30miles west in Chapin all but 3 days a week.
I might have to consider a membership there just to be able to train there 2-3 days week. That stuff sounds fun in an @ssbeating sort of way.
