Question for members: I'm 63 compete only in the bench. Weight 148. Current best lift is 300.9. Touch and go mark is 314. As others have mentioned there is not a lot of competition at the higher age levels, or even the 148 level. [Also lift in the 165 category just for grins.] My question is this: Which meets include the best competition, is there a meet that is the "gold standard"? Another question: There are obviously a variety of power lifting associations. I happen to belong to the 100 percent raw group. Depending on which group you belong to the records are different, which, in some cases I suppose reflects different requirements, i.e., no shirts, drug testing, etc. Is there not a single website, or group that makes an effort to collect this information, and separate it according to requirements? It just seems a little silly to see one group post a person's lift as a national record and have another group - same requirements - post their person as a national record holder when there is as much as a 50 pound differential.
I'm new to this. Been competing for two years. Just curious.
Thank you.

The most likely place to find the information you are looking for is at powerliftingwatch.com
Unfortunately powerlifting is very much divided. There are 50 or more federations that I know of, each with their own set of records. You have to take each record with a grain of salt. I have several records in several organizations so when I mention a record I always caveat it with the federation I’ve lifted in, and the age brackets.
There are a lot of good meets out there. I don’t believe that there is a gold standard meet out there. If you think about it 95% of the lifter out there finance themselves. So they typically look for something fairly close. Also most meets are 40 lifters or less, logistically it’s really hard to do anything more than that.
If you are looking for a really competitive (Open, not invitational) meet I would say look at the worlds in one of the larger federations.
Or what I do, I don’t concern myself so much with how I did in a give contest. What I look at is the rankings to see where I stand.

If you are lifting in the 100% RAW I think the American Challenge is probably the closest thing to the Gold standard. Depending on where you are located there should be an American Challenge event in your area. As dbunch said there usually aren't 40 lifters in an event and even less in the bench only categories. At least in the American Challenge you have the opportunity for real competition. You can also as dbunch commented, check out how you stack up by the annual rankings. Lifting in the open would also afford you more competition.
