Good Morning to All! Let me start by introducing myself, my name is George and I am new here. I am looking to get more involved in raw powerlifting. I have been training for about a year and a half and have competed in a few competitions while overseas in Afghanistan, but I want to get more involved stateside.
I have been a bit apprehensive in getting to deeply involved for a simple reason. I have been diagnosed with low testesterone and have been taking medication to stabalize my low t for about 2 years now, (just turned 40). I was wondering if anyone can tell me how that will affect my ability to compete in such a federation as this. I am in no way trying to get an advantage or "cheat", I just want to know how that is judged, so to speak.
If anyone has any insight or questions for me, please feel free to ask. Thanks and God Bless!!!

I am not an expert in the subject by any means but I believe that if you are being medically prescribed steroids for legitimate health reason you can get a waiver. I would send an email to the Drug Testing chairman Nicholas Theodoro, nutritek601@yahoo.comand. That way you can be sure to get the correct answer.

dbunch is correct. You can request a therapeutic use exemption (TUE) for a medically prescribed treatment. You have to submit the application with supporting medical documents and the federation will decide whether or not you will be allowed to compete. Do not compete without the exemption. It could result in a positive drug test and you could be banned.
