You know, its awesome to see OSU and Buckeye posting together...lol. I called an undefeated season last year, and a lot of doubters emerged. I'm calling for another one this year, with a title. This isn't just buckeye state bravado....I don't think we are going to go undefeated every year just "because". I do think think that the current seniors have a chip on their shoulders, the whole team is eager to prove something they couldn't and the incoming class will also push everyone to pick it up an edge more. Sorry to hijack the thread with cheerleading...but it doesn't take much to amp me up. Buckeye: I've talked on my log about not having full power meets in Ohio. If Lonnie offered one, I'd be at all of them. Be that as it is, I am setting my sights on a USAPL meet in Cleveland that happens every November. What would be truly awesome for you is maybe using this as a qualifyer...and then doing the raw challenge at the Arnold...can't ask for better positioning than that! Hey man I'm all about the Buckeyes and quite honestly, I think this past year's team was the worst looking undefeated team in history....but I'll take it!!! Better than losing for sure. I think Urban Meyer will get the recruits and OSU will no longer be a joke in championship games. Fact is, the Big Ten is slow in comparison to the SEC, but Urban will change that for OSU.

Do you have access to bumper plates? No - I've been tempted in the past to buy a pair. My technique sucks on the CJ but it sure works me pretty hard so I'm not effective in lifting large weights doing it.

3-3-13 Sled draggin' - a few long walks forward and backward w/ 60lbs and 4 sprints w/ 120lbs for 40 yards.
Just starting some conditioning today trying to get back in shape again. Purchasing a knock off Prowler tonight to begin using also. Can't wait for better weather to run hill sprints as well. Taking a few days off from lifting to let my body recover since I basically never take a "de-load".

3-6-13 Prowler V bar down / H bar back 120lbs x 4 x 40yds 190lbs x 1 x 40yds
First time ever using a Prowler and really enjoy it. Did it in the shop today to try it out. I'm sure the workouts will get better in the parking lot I'll use since there will be better grip than on a slick concrete floor. Time to get in better shape!

3-14-13 Prowler Warmup 80yds round trip walk w/ 140lbs x 2 Sprints 80yds round trip (40 vertical bars going 40 horizontal bars coming back) 140x1 210x2 280x1 340x3
Our youth pastor trained w/ me today for the first time on the Prowler and just about got the flu. According to him, one more push would have done it.
Feeling REALLY GOOD lately from changing up my diet and pushing this thing. There's more focus and purpose in each weight training day and I don't feel so beat up all the time. Getting some mobility and flexibility back as well.
Salem, OH meet coming up in a few weeks. My training partner and I will be competing. Praise the Lord I have a couple side jobs to pay for it - otherwise, I wouldn't be going. Work is really slow right now.

Looking good. Have you ever tried the "7, the hard way" sprint drill?
7-40yd sprints : rest period is the walk back to the start.
followed by
7-100yd sprints: rest period (again) is the walk back
Normally when I do these...if you would plot our path back to the starting line...gradually transforms from a bee-line into something like a snake-path wandering back and forth.

I basically was feeling fat, stiff and out of shape and wanted to up my conditioning to get in better shape. When weight training day comes, I can put a lot more into it and am much more enthusiastic on that day.

Never heard of it but sure seems like worth trying. Do you do all of it the same day? And do you walk the Prowler back to the start after each sprint?

I have been real busy lately and am just getting caught up. You amaze me with your intensity and variety. I find that I can only keep up real high intensity for one workout a weak. I try to blame it on turning 60 this coming May but you know what they say about excuses.

Might try and hit the slingshot next week. One more heavy session before the meet. Following week will probably work on short press reps for power off the chest and then it'll be the meet. Prowler work probably tomorrow. Going out to eat tonight at Olive Garden (gift card) and then to an Irish Folk Band concert (won free tickets) here in downtown Sandusky. Should be a great time, especially when I don't have to spend any extra $.
