210lbs - 2,750 calories
I'm wondering how many calories people on here consume daily, and if you give an answer let us know what you weigh as well. I ate too much crap over the summer, so I plan on slowly bringing the weight back down to 200lbs. I'm interested in everybody from 165ers to SHWs. If you'd like, leave a brief description afterward saying if you're cutting/maintaining/bulking, etc. I'm interested in seeing what relationship there is here to weight, strength, and calories.

I eat 2400-2500 on non-workout days and 3400-3500 on workout days. My goal is to maintain or even gain, lean, quality muscle.
You can see my diet under this section(Nutrition) under the carb cycling thread.

44 yo 219 lbs
I was 121 lbs when I enlisted in the Air Force at 21. It is very difficult for me to gain weight. I have been trying to gain weight my entire adult life - you might call it a 20+ year bulk. To that end, I have consistently eaten between 4500 and 6000 calories a day. I finally hit 242 lbs earlier this year but decided to slowly cut back because I haven' been able to work out due to injuries. I've been taking in 4000+/- a day most of this year and have cut back to 219. I don't know if it has effected my strength any. I probably won't know for several months after I resume heavy lifting. I can say that pound-for-pound, I have always been stronger when I was heavier and, contrary to most people, I see the biggest variance in my squat.

3speed; for the record I hate your guts. Maintanence for me is 2000-2200/day. Light cutting is 1800-1900 a day and if I'm in a hurry to lose some weight 1600 cal/day. I'm 181 35yo (177.25 on official scale Tuesday morning). I have a SUPER slow metabolism. If I'm doing a normal amount of lifting and cardio and want to simply maintain 181 about 2100-2200 calories seems just rights. That's my life.

I also have a super slow metabolism. If I want to maintain where I am at (even on lifting days), then I take in around 2000 calories. Even if I workout constantly and only take in 1500 calories the weight comes off very slow (and I am constantly hungry). It took me three years to lose 60 pounds, and I still want to lose 20 more (17%bf). I have toyed with the idea of seeing a metabolism expert for weight loss (suppose to be a good one in Omaha), but it costs quite a bit.

1500 calories might be putting your body into too much of a deficit. If that happens, your body will fight the weight loss. Sometimes you can actually increase weight loss by increasing your calorie intake. Not saying that is the case here, just throwing out a possibility. Bodybuilding . com forums is an excellent resource for this kind of information. Their nutrition and fat loss forums contain a wealth of info.

I thought at one point that I may be causing too much of a deficit, so I increased and even worked out a little more. All that happened is my waistline expanded. I am very frustrated. The first 30 pounds did come of relatively easy (6 months) compared to the last 30 (2.5 years). BB.com is actually where I get a lot of my info. I have a bodyspace under the same user name.

Would 1800 calories a day be a good goal to lose a few pounds without losing strength (I weigh 200 pounds)? I am totally lost on the diet part of things, and I need to lose more weight. I am currently at 17% bf and would like to be around 10%, but I don't want to lose any strength.

workout days: literally all i can hold. comes out between 5000-7000 calories usually off days: about 3500
i'm between 195 and 200 and gaining weight slowly. oddly, if i ate the same number of calories, but split them up 4750-5000 a day i gain weight quickly, and if i split them up to consistently hitting 2500 on off days and 7000 on training days, i can lose weight steadily. cutting calories too much makes me gain fat. i think it's a hormone thing
