Hello! I'm new to MD as well as to PL We are a Navy family, currently living on base in Pax River.. I pretty much train on my own..I don't plan on competing anytime soon, but PL definitely gives me a sense of accomplishment all on its own!! So where does everyone workout around here? Right now, I'm just using the base gym and I have been using a modified Westside template..not quiet sure where to go from there..Oh, and I am also in the middle of trying to lose a good amount of lbs and I have just been recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism!! I have been 'dieting,' and exercising for MONTHS with little to show for(besides my strength increasing ) So I finally broke down and went to the Doc and POOF! Well, I look forward to chatting with you all!

Hello mominmd! I just got back from vacation and saw your note. I hope you are getting settled into Md and have found a good place to train. You really should think about competing because it gives you great motivation to forge ahead with you diet and workout plans. This organization is very "user friendly" so you don't have to worry about being a first time competitor. I just did my first one and the meet manager (Bossi), the referees, the other competitors, and even the guys who put the plates on the bar were all very helpful!!! I'm just starting a 12 week cycle for the Worlds in Hagerstown. That would be an easy trip for you.
