Hi everybody,
I live in BC and I would like to compete in unequipped bench press. Interesting, how many of us are there?
If there's no chance to have Canadian RAW meets in near future, I think we would try to compete in IPF affiliated competitions, but without wearing a shirt. Maybe we won't win shirted guys but at least we would know our results and compare them. It's better than nothing.
What do you think?

I am currently trying to find something myself for unequipped Canadians.
It might come down to something like you suggested. We might have to have every one compete at their provincials in the IPF affiliated meets, and then we can have Canadian RAW champions.
The problem would be to have every one honest about lifting RAW. This would have to be worked out.
In Ontario they said they would record RAW lifts. In the maritimes they do to if I am not mistaken. If we can get the other provinces to record them as RAW we would have something. Than we would have a legit IPF meet with their legit judges, and their word that is was RAW. We could then have all the results from across Canada posted and have our rankings and CHampions.
If we all agree to pitch in $10 (like putting in for a fantasy football or something, lol) we could have trophies or medals, just like the equipped boys get. Hades, we might even have a better turn out, because we won't loose people due to not wanting to drive across Canada for the meet (every one could just stay in their home province).
What do you think about that?

I agree with everything you said, except $10 idea . Hey, I don't think enthusiasts of raw lifting will be dishonest with their results. It doesn't make sense, because sooner or later we'll meet each other on a real meeting and nobody wants to be embarrassed by a previous lie, you know. So for this first stage let's just keep online base of raw results in Canada, no matter official or not, including even those records people would just mentioned in the forums. Reps results would be fine as well. I can start with myself : 43 years, 185lb bw, 265lb x 10 reps (flat position, no bouncing). I did raw 352.7lb (160kg) bench (180lb bw) in 1992, but I guess it's no longer valid . Don't forget "Best unequipped" page on www.powerlifting.ca website. Anybody else?

I just left a message up there on the main forum for the pres of 100% RAW. It is in the thread about the bench nationals coming up on Nov 17th. I ask him about coming to Canada with some meets and putting on a 100% RAW Canadian Nationals. Feel free to hope on there and help out

Yeah, sure I read your message. Well I think at the moment nobody treat Canadian raw lift enthusiasts seriously. Maybe when there'll be much more of us and we start to kick donkey on equipped meets, breaking provincials and national records, the situation would change. Meanwhile, let's hit the gym hard
